1. Digital Millennium Copyright Act Compliance

VideoDL (powered by Codjin) respects the intellectual property rights of creators, artists, media publishers, and software authors. We maintain a strict policy of full compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512, "DMCA"), the European Union Copyright Directive, and international intellectual property standards.

It is our policy to respond expeditiously to clear, valid notices of alleged copyright infringement and to take appropriate technical measures (including URL extraction blacklisting).

2. Technical Non-Hosting Statement

⚠️
Critical Notice to Rights Holders: VideoDL does NOT host, store, index, or stream any copyrighted media files. All video and audio files are hosted exclusively on external origin platforms (such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, etc.).

VideoDL functions exclusively as a client-side parser and metadata resolution proxy. When a user requests media from our tool:

  • Our software reads public metadata manifests hosted by the originating social media network.
  • Direct CDN URLs are supplied to the user's browser for direct streaming or download.
  • No copy of the file is saved to our disks or databases at any time.

Consequently, submitting a DMCA notice to VideoDL will enable us to block our engine from resolving streams for the specified URL, but it will NOT remove the content from the World Wide Web. To delete the video from the Internet, you must contact the platform hosting the source content (e.g., YouTube's Copyright Portal or Meta's Rights Manager).

3. Submitting a Valid DMCA Notice

If you are a copyright owner or an authorized agent acting on behalf of an owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed, you may submit a formal written Notification of Claimed Infringement to our Designated Copyright Agent.

Upon receiving a complete and legally valid notification, we will immediately disable the ability of VideoDL's parser and API endpoints to extract or process the flagged URL or channel identifier.

4. Notice Requirements Checklist

To ensure prompt action, your DMCA Notification must contain all of the following elements as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

  1. Physical or Electronic Signature: A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  2. Identification of Copyrighted Work: Clear description and identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  3. Specific Infringing URLs: The exact web links (URLs) on third-party platforms for which you request parsing disablement on VideoDL.
  4. Contact Information: Your full legal name, company or organization, physical mailing address, telephone number, and official email address.
  5. Good Faith Statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. Accuracy & Perjury Statement: A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

5. URL Blocklisting & Enforcement Actions

When a verified DMCA notice is processed:

  • The flagged URL / video ID is entered into our persistent Blacklist Database.
  • Any subsequent attempts by any web user or API client to resolve or download media from that URL will be rejected with an immediate HTTP 403 Forbidden: Content Disabled Due to Rights Claim response.
  • The takedown action is typically enacted across all global server nodes within 24 hours of receiving a verified notice.

6. Counter-Notification Procedure

If a content creator believes that their content URL was blocked or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification, the affected party may submit a written Counter-Notification pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3).

7. Repeat Infringer Policy

VideoDL maintains an active policy to terminate or revoke API access tokens and block IP subnets belonging to users or developers who repeatedly attempt to use the platform in violation of copyright laws.

8. Designated Copyright Agent

All DMCA notifications, counter-notices, and copyright correspondence should be addressed to our Designated Copyright Officer:
